Shirley and Ron Ryder built the first Shur-Kleen in Lacey in April of 1985 after Shirley wanted to start her own small business and realizing the need in Thurston County for a tunnel car wash. Deciding between the names "Shirley’s Car Wash" or "Shirley’s Clean Car Wash," they shortened the name to Shur-Kleen Car Wash and the family business thrived and expanded to 8 locations over the next 25 years. In 2009, Andrew and Liberty purchased Shur-Kleen Car Wash, Inc and continue to grow and improve the business as hands-on owners.
